I have recently purchased my first non-Ford truck. I love my new Dodge but have an annoying vibration at 70mph and up. Engine turning around 2000 rpm. Does it at 70mph when in neutral, does not do it when sitting still at 2000 rpm.

Feel vibration in entire body, could not isolate to front or rear. Does not feel like tire balance.

I am afraid to take to dealer. I don't even think they know a diesel is offered in these trucks where I live.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ed... . where from PA? Welcome to the site!

Unfortunately Chrysler is screwing the people who have that specific vibration.

Here's my prediction. . One of two things will happen.

1) Sorry... we can't diagnose it because the speed limit doesn't allow us to drive that speed.

You say... get in... . I'll drive.

They say... we won't allow our tech in the truck.

2)They call Chrysler Tech dept.

They give you your truck back and say "too bad for you, don't call us, we'll call you"

They will tell you Chrysler knows they have an issue and they are developing a fix. You will be notified when the fix becomes available.

You never hear from them again.

I also had that vibration. I put 35" tires on it and had the speedo recalibrated.

Vibe is all but gone. I'm happy and Chrysler sucks for dragging people out so long on that one.

I don't have a 3rd Gen truck, I have a 2nd Gen, but I had the same problem above 65 mph. When I got my ATS trans, I asked that they send the driveshaft out to be balanced, and VIOLA' the vibration was gone! Evidently the 2nd Gen driveshafts weren't balanced very well as I know of other 2nd Gen guys who had their vibration problems fixed the same way. I doubt if Dodge started balancing their driveshafts better just for the 3rd Gens!

Vibration

They will do their best to fix it, but don't let up on them. Chrysler bought my truck back, (04 Laramie Diesel in June) after several tries to fix problem. If no Luck call 1-800-4lemons and explain to them what is giong on and remember keep every service and repair order.
