Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Looking for an ole 12valve

I am looking for a 94-95 2500 with reasonable miles. I need a truck that can net me some great fuel mileage (20+) as I will be putting alot of highway miles on it. I sold my 96' 3500 due to the poor mileage (4. 10's) I need to stay below $9000 if possible.



Is there anything in particular that I need to pay extra special attention to? Anybody with a comparable truck chime in and let me know what kind of mileage you are getting and what mods.

When I bought mine new in '95, it had 4. 10's, the best I got for mileage was 18 combined highway and round town. Now I have added a #5 plate, larger exhaust flow thru muffler, and 3. 54 gearing and I get 22-25mpg. I also am running 265's for the tire size and have had the speedo gear calibrated. The most important thing to look at is make sure that the KDP has been tended to.

I would search ebay, I see a lot of 12V trucks down your way on ebay all the time. I use the search Dodge Diesel, or Dodge Cummins, and I search years 1994 to 1997. I was looking ebay to buy an ole 12v myself and got lucky just taking a back way off the beaten path and stumbled on to this 94. I have not got a tank threw it yet, but the previous owner got 21-22 highway empty and 17 towing with it and it is bone stock.
