Looking for "back lit" not "rim lit" gauges. Any info?

Most gauges seem to be of the rim lit type. I am curious if a manufacturer makes a back lit type... . ie. where the light actually shines through the numbers. Similar to our dash instruments. I think Isspro may be coming out with a line and I wonder if anyone has had success with that brand.

Check out the VDO Vision series. These gauges are almost identical to the stock gauges on the Ram. Same lighting,needle,numbers. They are good quality and reasonably priced. I have had a set for a year now and love them.

Spa gauges are back lighted... digital gauges. . plus have hightest reading recall and are programable

DiProcal gauges are backlighted. Much Much nicer than the rim lighted ISSPRO's or Autometers.

In fact I still have my Autometer EGT and ISSPRO Boost gauges from Bullydog, that I never installed.

They don't match each other, and the EGT (Free with the purchase of a VA unit) starts at 600 degrees. Wow thats useful for shutdowns!!! NOT.

Anyone interested in these?

Very happy with the DiProcal's. Glad I used them instead.

Guys, Thanks for the info. I just purchased a 3 gauge pillar mount unit from Genos and the gauges from VDO (Vision backlit).

This is a great website... so much info and so helpful.

I see "functional halo light" in your profile. What in the world is that? And... . if it is cool, how do I get one!

That ring around your ingition is suppose to light up with the interior light (yes there's even a bulb in there). Starting in the year 2000 model trucks, DC stopped hooking these things up. When you have your pillar column apart, just tap into the interior light circuit--you'll be glowing just like the '99 and earlier models.
