Car to run on aluminum as fuel.

I stopped by the Tanner show in Denver on Sunday... soley for the purpose of learning and finding what I like.

I was really comfortable with the H&K USP Tactical. I like the lever slide release. The mag release operated from the base of the trigger guard was easy dropped with my firing hand index finger. Money not being a factor this would be my choice.

The Sig 226 is a very high contender in my list. The mag drop using my firing hand thumb was like butter with this frame... it was that easy! My hand fit it well. The 2022 model also felt comfortable. There is a significant price difference between these 2 models; the latter being a polymer lower frame.

I am sorta' of the mindset that you get what you pay for. To any sig owners... do you have a comment on the lower priced 2022?

The XD-M models are still a possibility... but this one is overshadowed by the above three contenders. The model with the 5. 25 length barrel caught my attention.

If I recall correctly, Browning's original 1911 design did not include the grip safety. The Army wanted it to prevent "drop on ground" discharges during a fight. That's why so many 1911 carriers use the phrase "cocked and locked". They're pretty safe. You squeeze the whole gun before you squeeze the trigger, or it won't go "boom".

Here's another thing to think about; get a gun your son won't glom onto. RJ got my 1911, so I scored a Glock. And my daughter likes her big model 19, so I got a 26. Now, I get to keep my damn gun!

you would probably have to shoot them to see the difference, plus plastic is cheaper than steel.

heres a good 1911 option to throw a monkey wrench in the system.

Sig builds a fine handgun, but I'd definitely go with the 226 or 229. The 2022 is lighter, yes, but I just don't like poly. While I have not personally seen any problems in them, I'm always leery. I've seen several that have several thousand rounds through them... . 5-10k rounds. They seem to have barrel accuracy issues, ejector issues, or trigger release issues before any lower failures. Not in any rate of excess. I'd say they're just as reliable as a Glock, only prettier. And have a higher resale value.
