Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Looking for good CTD mechanic in Austin/Central Texas

Can anyone make any recommendations for a good CTD mechanic (preferably someone who owns and drives a CTD) in Austin or the Central Texas area?



I know that Gary out at Benny Boyd is a great CTD mechanic, but I'd rather not have to drive to Lampassas if I can.

Can do you one a little better, but almost as far. Zach Hamilton in Liberty Hill, actually Seward Junction. Junction of 183 and 29, East on 29 just a short way on the North side. I work on them, but he knows how to make them scream.

Thanks for the input HSmith, however I am familiar with Zach H. Yeah, you're right, he does know how to make the CTD scream. However he took a lame shortcut on my '94 and installed fuel line hose on my transmission lines right under the turbo and I truly lucked out when the truck didn't burn to the ground upon failure of one of the hoses. And that's not the only instance of poor judgment I've seen him do when working on my trucks.



Don't get me wrong, I like Zach, but after my experiences I don't have any confidence in his judgment at this point.

There's absolutely nothing 'funny' about one's truck burning to the ground. This was a case of monumental poor judgment, otherwise I wouldn't be looking for another mechanic.

Don't be so dramatic and don't talk spit about a working man on the internet, we all know he is a good mechanic. Don't make us send Clay to loosen your lug nuts.



Send it to the dealer and let them take your money and let a 18yr old oil changer work on it.

There is nothing monumental about a truck not burning to the ground. And did your truck burn or are you being dramatic.



You should try Edins house of something. I hear they do great on powerstrokes. I think they even work on cummins. They are in Hutto.

The recomendation still stands Zack is the man. I would trust him to do any work for me. Hisn helper knows more about the cummins engine than Edins HOD umask. And he has the courtesy to recomend another shop. Yes he is reading this thread!

Thanks, I thought so myself, but did not want to steer anyone in the wrong direction. I do CTD repair myself, but do not call myself an expert. And I surely do not advertise, even for gasser repairs.
