Greetings all,

I am getting ready to put in a Gear Vendors in my 05 CTD, 4x4, G56 transmission, quad cab, long bed and was wondering if anyone has a good used driveline for sale. My thoughts are to keep my stock one intact and buy another one to cut and balance with the gear vendors slip yoke. Anyhow if you have one let me know $, etc. Thanks.

If that is Hermiston, OR you are in, I have a 04. 5 25K mile 5600 drive line you can have for the taking. I'm in Jefferson, OR.

TWest,

Thanks for the reply. I believe that there is a difference between the splines for the automatics compared to the 6 speed manuals so I don't think this will work. I will keep you in mind if I can't find anything else.

tkerrigan,

Is your driveline a 2 piece with the carrier bearing in the middle by the u-joint. Where about's is Jefferson at compared to Hermiston? When you say 5600 drive line, are you meaning a G56 or the NV5600 driveline.

NV5600, should mate up with a G56 other than length, which you are changing anyway. It's left over from installing an aluminum drive line. The aluminum drive line is far away the best to use.

I took out the 2pc drive line to get rid of drive line shudder. Unexpected bonus was more HP and fuel mileage. Probably 5-10 HP and at least 1 mpg. If you check all three ujoints in the stock drive line, they aren't quite in phase. Front to rear cross was out of phase 2°. I think this is due to high torque putting a twist in the tubes. There was 1° between each cross. Jefferson is between Salem and Albany.

Yes they are different. No big deal to change tho. Good luck.

This is great information. I have never heard of changing out to a one piece shaft. What kind of towing do you do. Max weight etc. Please tell me more...
