Springs over or under axle?

I'm looking for something that has a garage that can handle a full sized offroad vehicle. I need living quarters, so we can take our blind diabetic dog along with us on weekend wheeling trips.

I'm even open to something with living quarters, and an open deck behind it. Any info is appreciated.

Nope, no way - the door as a ramp is ranted for 2,500 lbs. I don't know of any toy haulers that can handle a full size rig in the back. The best option I've been able to come up with is a gooseneck trailer and then a pickup camper slid on the front. That's the way I'll go when the time comes. I would build storage boxes for each side for more storage and to take up the space that's there for the wheel wells.

You will not be able to use a toy hauler for your needs. You will want a converted car hauler with living quaters. Here are some links to companies that do this. Some will convert your existing enclosed trailer, while others sell it as a package on a new unit. Plan to spend around $30,000 for something new in the gooseneck variety with a payload capacity and garage room for a 4k rig. The forest river work and play is probably one of the nicest units I have seen for a turnkey unit. If you are looking for something more custom and are willing to pay a little more transport designs does some of the best work I have seen. They build their own units to what ever specs you want. I have toured their plant and it is amazing. Good luck

Weekend Warrior claims to be able to carry 4K vehicles in their trailers and even shows (or at least used to) a couple of pics unloading a Jeep from a trailer. I believe the doors/ramps on most trailers are rated at 2500 lbs per axle assuming that only one axle is on the ramp at a time. \

I don't recall seeing any 'garage equipped' (meaning a divider wall between living and cargo areas) trailers rated for the weight or length of a 4K ORV.

Bottom line: A RV based trailer ain't gonna cut it IMO. Start with a car carrier and add living quarters. Do a search on my user name and you should find a bit of reading regarding this exact dilemma.

IMO there's not enough floorspace with a pickup camper. I'd stick a popup or a small TT body on a gooseneck if I went that way.

If you want a complete listing of the toy-haulers that are out there, got the toy-hauler forum at rv.net, there's a complete list in a sticky at the top...

Don't know if any will fit your needs, but at least will give you a ton of info on what's available.

Something like this? This has an 8' self contained living Qtr. It is for sale if anyone's interested.

That would be a haul, but I bet we could get it relayed out here. Have any other pictures, especially of the cargo area, and oh yeah, the living quarter's for the wife. :-laf

Here are a couple of the LQ. I need to get some of the cargo area.

Check out Ragen Trailers in Parris, CA. (now owned by Weekend Warrior mfg). They've always had a 27 foot toyhauler that's built to handle 6,000 + lbs in the back. It's the highest CCC on the market. Remember on the 2500 lb ramp doors, you won't have both axles on there at the same time.

Those look nice, although it appears they don't offer a GN style trailer?
