i got mine today and put them on the bottom edge of the tailgate. because of the spare tire access hole on the flat area under the tail gate on body you couldnt mount it there. i took off the mounting tape brackets that it came with. i then put a triple layer of two sided tape to fill the grove on the front and then a wider one to give better purchase. its very soild and looks great. i think it looks better there than where it was ment to go. i used exterior two sided tape. robert
Well, Mine smoked out today. There was so much smoke that I though my truck was on fire! Unplugged it from the 4 pin connector. Making a call tomorrow!
mine the end of it looks like it caught fire or something and melted the end almost clear off, I called and shipped mine out yesterday so far they said they would handle it! lifetime warranty better come thru!!
I've followed a couple trucks with these on the freeway from a ways back and to me they look too bright especially in comparison to the taillights. Looks out of balance for my tastes. I thought about getting one and taking out every other lamp, or two out of three.
It would be a nice touch to wire up the light bar to increase illumination during braking. Even better: have them flash sequentially with the turn signals like the taillights on my '68 Mercury Cougar
