Looking for outer rocker panels to fit 2003 Ram 4 door long bed.
Any idea's where I might find them.
Paintable, durable, prefered may consider stainless if I cant find those.
Thanks, Mike

Hey Mike, Not sure where you are at, but here in NC, there are usually decent rust free trucks that can be found at LKQ (pick a part), You can take a DC sawzall in and cut out what you need, I have no idea if anyone makes repro panels yet for the 3rd gens.

Panel is available from Mopar, at least it was 5 years ago.

And no, you don't want stainless welded to mild steel, that rusts like crazy because of the incompatibility of this two steels.

I need some inner rocker panels pieces to weld in mine. The guys missed them with Fluid Film for a few years and they rotted. I'll probably just have some steel bent on a brake to weld in.

That's what u had to do for the inner ones too. They are easy to fabricate.
Get yourself a dedicated spot weld drill bit, makes life easier.

If you install new over old - the new ones will be toast after the first winter.
That small gap between the panels fills with salt water that never again comes back out.
We used to do that for cars that we wanted to last just another year, maybe two.

I would clean both panels up and grease or fluid film the gap between the two. Without spraying with oil or fluid film around here, it's hard to get any vehicle to last past 10 years.
