excessive white smoke on cold engine starts is another symptom.
i'm talking BIG CLOUDS here.
the last time i just pulled the spring out and stretched it a little and everything was normal.
i checked it now and the end of the spring is very worn(sharp as a razor) and the check ball will actually go up into the spring meaning very little pressure against the ball( if any).
pumperdude,,your right,,there's gotta be a spring out there that will work. why else would they have made it a 2 piece valve if the spring wasn't intended to be changed vs a new valve? the couple places i called said ,,(oh,,we have new ones but not a spring kit,,you sure you have a 2 piece valve??)
