yes please if you have the new light set please add pics or the old ones we have two members looking for some info and don't say do a search I have

please thanks

Vaughn, if you come over and look at my truck, I put on the new style but w/ smoked lenses, I will try to post some pictures.

What year did they go to the "new" style?

I know my 02 has them, and id be happy to take a picture. But, shes not with me at the moment thanks to a broken input shaft :{

Personally, I like the newer style lights.

CJ

If I was putting them on a truck that didn't have them I would use the ones from a '96+/- GM truck. They are more aerodynamic looking.

jim lives not to far from me when I go over to his house to have my truck worked on Ill take a good look at his lights

thanks J pike

Just as an fyi, "new" style started in 99-02 02-06 is almost identical, I think just wiring plug is different. "old" style is beehive

P. s. I did mean Holloway sorry

Mine are recon w/ l. e. d. lights

thanks jim I think the old style are like a tear drop looking light

i'll take my time and research it some more then make my move to have them put in .

ps jim has one nice looking truck and I think he did most of the work himself

a real nice job

All The 01,s Ive Seen Had Teardrop Style All The 02,s Ive Seen And Later Have The Flatter Style I Am Refering To Factory Installed Cab Lights. i Have Personally Put On Three Sets Of Tear Drops Two 01 Trucks And One 95 Truck They Are Easy To Do Once You Get Passed Drilling That First Hole. Also None Of These Sets Came From Dodge So No Wiring Harness But Still Easy To Do.

taking my truck some where where I can't keep a eye on it all the time when someone installing lights or whatever

scares the living Hell out of me

I had a 92 ford f 250 diesel new took it to truck and trailer to have marker light installed they sprung my drivers door it saged and never closed rite after that they told me it was that way when it came in so what do you do

I wish I coud in stall the lights

but if you tell a shop you want to stay with the truck and watch they think your crazy but let them thank that I don't

]give a **** I am what I am if they don't like it I take the truck and out the door I go

I guess you could say I'm vary funny about my truck

Ill find a shop that will do it the way I want

If You Can Get A Template That Comes In The Dodge Kits These Things Are A Sinch To Do. If You Get A Dodge Kit I Think You Get The Wire And Everything. I Chose Not To And Bought All 3 Kits For Around $30 Each And Wired Them Myself Using Scotch Locks And Not 1 Of The Three Trucks Has Had Any Problems. i Borrowed A Template It Tells You Where You Need To Drill Every Hole Just Center It On The Cab Tape It On The Edges And Slightly Punch The Holes Your Ready To Drill.

I put mine in myself, I was sweating crying and excited all at once. Then my wife added to my anxiety by coming out into the garage and saying "Your're going to drill holes in your roof, are you sure you know what you are doing?". "Of course. " I replied, to that she left and went to the mall where it was safe. :-laf

some say it's easier to drop the headliner and you will see where they go and take your time and drill from the inside out

just center the drill bit in the middle of the circles in the inside of the roof

I have never put a set in so I don't know

does this sound rite?

V Holloway I Had Heard That Also And That They Would Be Center Punched Or Scored If You Will That Way If You Bought A Truck From Dealer Without Factory Light It Would Be Easy For The Dealer To Do. There Were No Marks On The Inside Of Mine No Plug For Wire Either Had To Run The Ones I Did Into A Certain Hole In The Back Of The Fuse Panel. I Didnt Take The Headliner Clear Out Just Dropped The Front A Few Inches But All In All A Pretty Easy Job. If You Know Someone That Bought A Factory Kit They Should Have A Template Once You See It On Top Of The Truck Youll Realize How Easy It Is It Has Every Hole Marked. I Bought 2 Of The Kits From Jc Whitney And One At A Flea Market For I Think 10 Or 15 Bucks It Was Un Opened And They All Worked Great. Like I Said Before The Hardest Part Was Convincing Myself To Drill 15 Holes In The Cab Of My Truck. The Next 2 Trucks Were Easy They Were My Brothers One Of Them Was Flipping Out When I Started At The Top Of His Truck With That Drill Running There Are A Couple Other Tips I Can Share If You Want But This Is Getting Kinda Long.

yes man give it to us tell us all what you know we need all the info we can get

I don't think I could deal with a drill near my truck unless I had 2 or 3 valiums or something like that

but all kidding a side there are two kinds of people in the world the ones that talk like they can do the job and the ones that can

if I know a guy has done the job before and it turns out good then i'm ok with it

but just to let some sob just start drilling on my truck that thinks it will turn out ok no no no that my friend will never happer if I can help it I can read people real quick most of the time if I thank they are BSing me thats it out the door I go

but yes please help us out here I know I can"t do it even if I coud see real good I think I would passout before I got the first hole drilled you need to have your balls screwed on tight for that job to much for me

If You Dont Drop The Headliner All The Way Which You Dont Have To Wrap Electrical Tape Around The Drill Bit So Only 1/4 To 1/2 Inch Is Exposed. After Drilling Take One Of The Screws And Run It In And Out Of Every Hole Makes Them Much Easier To Put In While Installing The Light. Put A Dab Odf Permatex On The Screw Threads Just To Be Safe. Also After Its Crewed Down Shoot Some Permatex Into The Wire Hole From The Inside The Cab Dont Think The Permatex Is A Necessity But Its Cheap Insurance. Also If You Only Drop The Headliner A Few Inches Be Careful Not To Pull Down On It Too Hard. I Only Dropped It In The Front A Few Inches Because Of The Grab Handle Obove The Passenger Side Window Didnt Act Like It Was Gonna Come Off Real Easy. All In All Not A Bad Job Just Be Patient And Take Your Time You Cant Undrill A Hole Very Easy. Adam

If You Goto Ebay And Type In Dodge Ram Clearance Lights They Have Both Styles They Also Have Them Amber, Clear, And Smoke. If You Look Around On The Net You Can Find Pics Of Them Mounted On Trucks.
