looking for software for Cummins N14

I am looking at setting my trucks to a slower top speed, ect... and am looking for the software to do it. Where would I go to get the corrrect software, cables, ect for a laptop? or a "DRB" type of plug in tool.

The only thing I know of is Insite. Here is a direct link to the brochure. I don't know anything about this software. I was interested in the same thing for Caterpillar called "Pocket Technician" just to change cruse control, engine brake settings and top speed but was told that it's not worth the expense since the only parameters you can change are not ones that you would change very often.



There are a couple ebay auctions selling Insite. I don't know if they come with the adapters to fit the plug under the dash or just the software.

I'm assuming your doing this to limit the top speed for a hired driver? Unless your planning on changing these parameters often or using it for diagnostic reasons I'd say it would be cheaper to just have it done at the dealer. I know some will just charge you 1hr of computer time which I believe is like $60. 00, unless your having something else repaired. My newest truck had a CEL and since it was already hooked to the computer they made all the changes I wanted for free. (warranty repair) If you know anyone with a Nexiq Pro-Link scan tool I believe they can modify the same settings.

Sounds like you hired the guy I fired for a similar stunt. His initials wouldn't be J. S. , would they? Sorry to hear it. I had my N14 computer work done by the local Cummins dealer. It was actually done prior to me taking delivery from the Freightliner dealer, so Freighty paid for it. We went to a fuel card to prevent or limit losses from this kind of thing. Won't stop the drivers from doing it, but really slows them down. They can pump fuel into someone else's truck on the card and have that driver pay them cash at a discounted rate to cheat you and pocket the money, but it's a lot harder that stealing the fuel cash outright. You can monitor the card usage online instantly. Good luck.

No, his initials were W. W. . ... We use fuel cards, and he was taking cash for fuel and basically was pumping part of it into our truck, and part into the other guys' truck.

At work we use Wright cards. Good at most fuel stations. ('cept the Indians ) We have to punch in our ID #, then mileage. This info is sent to the company, not sure how, most likely with the bill. They can keep track of where, when, how much fuel used. With this, they can figure mileage, and check for skimmers. Makes it easy to check for changes in fuel usage per vehicle.

Maybe this is an option for you, just thought I'd throw it out there!

E7 sounds to me like your looking for a PRO LINK 9000 & cartrages, check out usa tools warehouse they are out of cleveland, & have good prices, the pro link will do everything without the high price of a laptop!!!
