Hello im having trouble finding tach and governor spring online for my 92w250. Also wondering who makes the best manual for the engine/inj pump.

Thanks new to site still learning how to use.

Being 1st gen related, I doubt you will find much online, but if you call PDR, Scheid's, et al, even your local injection shop, you can find the gov spring for under $20.

For the tach, try any of the links on the engine performance page. ISSPRO is the brand many guys are running. AGain, you may have to call to get any info, as tachs have come stock for 13years now.

The engine will have the pickup and the wire harness installed from the factory. Kinda like the electric mirrors. Not all trucks have the tach and electric mirrors however, they are wired for it.

ISSPRO is very popular and operate very well for our applications and within our budget. You may wish keep all the gauges the same brand and model. If so keep this in mind. The ISSPRO has flat and curved face glass. Some gauges are white and some black.

5503 is black curved face (EV Series) 6503 is white (white gauges make your rig look over-valved ;) )

8503 is black flat face

You will likely need the wire harness adapter 8912-92 The flat face gauges are getting harder to find. Check the ISSPRO site. All your other gauges (boost/trans/fuel etc. ) are easily obtained w/curved glass. There are a couple tricks the gen public will not tell you about connecting the wire harness to the gauge. Some applications/gauge combo will turn your hair grey. Let us know what gauge you choose and get back with us about how to connect the harness adapter to the gauge. Not all parts are used.

hello i just bought what i think is a 8503 isspro tach used without the harness adapter. i looked at the adapter and it seams to only add one more wire wondering if there was some special electrics in adapter or if i could make my own.

thanks brad greene

Looking at the Isspro catalog page 14, that unit requires the sending unit and magnets glued to the front damper to work.

Steve's post about the 8503 Tach is incorrect. I have the 8503 tach in my truck and all I needed to install it was the harness adapter 8912-92. Plugged right in and works great.
