Hi there,

I'm looking for a 7 pin reciever plug. This is actually the plug that mounts onto the reciever hitch, You know, the one with the little flip cover. NOT the plug adapter that plugs into it.

I was going to look in a junkyard or go to the stealer but thought I would ask here first.

If anyone knows the part number that would be helpful as well.

Thanks, Kevin

Try a trailer hitch place

Mactruck,

I found a few places, one here in Colorado that has what you are looking for priced at $43. You should be able to find one closer to you. You might try the autoparts places to or a boat shop.

Here is the website for the one here: http://www.hitchcorner.com

Good luck.

might try any good truck fueling stop. . most have replacement parts available... . that would be the quick answer

then there are the online sourses for wire supplies and tow truck

supplies. .

I80 comes to mind for truck supply place

AW Direct is another

I just bought another one from the dealer. I don't remember the price but I was suprised. It was under $20. What ever the price was I thought it was very reasonable. Unlike most of the other parts I've bought from the dealer.

I backed into a dirt bank and broke the flip cover on mine.

My thoughts were that the back plug where the wiring harness plugs in was a special DC design:confused:

I'm not sure. My plan was to go to the stealer and if it's about $20, I may do that. Any part #'s?

The replacement plug from the dealer has the connector that matches the truck wiring harness... the generic 7 pin plugs are universal and you have to insert each wire into a barrel connector and tighten a set screw on each wire. Not a very permanent or weather proof connection. My 2 cents worth.

The one's that I have bought are "Standard" Part # TCP- 701F. I think I bought that brand from NAPA, however I know that CarQuest or BigA also have them. I hope I got this to you before you got to the dealer. $$$ I don't recall what I paid, Sorry.

Wal-Mart

Actually has a pretty good selection of trailer wiring parts. All the different plugs and adapters. The prices are reasonable as usual.
