Website to find hauling/towing jobs??

I'm moving from the SF Bay Area to Reno in a month or two and am looking for a good-sized cargo (or enclosed car trailer) to borrow or rent. I know U-Haul's biggest trailer is a 6x12, which will do if I can't find anything bigger... I'll just have to make several trips.

It'd be nicer if there was something bigger I might be able to use. If anybody knows of one, or has one, please drop me a line. Thanks!

Rob,

If you rent a Uhaul, take a good look underneath before you use it much. I rented one not too long ago for a move and one of the bolts holding the spring under the trailer was missing the nut and backed half way off. If I had used it that way without fixing it, it probably would have died a horrible death at on the highway...

You might consider buying a trailer and then selling it on the other end.

Cash isn't available to buy and then sell a trailer... besides, I never seem to have the luck that others do with buying low and selling high.

So it would seem. BTW, what's the status on our deal?

Welcome to Reno

Welcome to Reno! I made that same move about 6 years ago from Concord to Reno. Hope everything works out good for you!

When I rented a sprinkler trencher this summer, the rental place (AllStar Rents in Reno @ 775-358-5123) had some trailers for rent that *looked* bigger than the U-haul 6x12's. I never got any details on them, but was figuring I would give them a call first if I ever had to rent a trailer again. For one thing, I am sure they were a lot taller than those u-hauls.

Good luck with the move.
