Looking to get the trans worked.... SE PA area

Help me out if you can. I'm beginning research on what trans to get and who to put it in for me in the SE PA area. Willing to drive 100 or so miles if I have to.



I'm keeping the motor stock but I want a really tough trans that will put the power down without hesitation. I dyno 423 hp with the TST 800+ tq.

I did a Goerend Bros Torque convertor and Valve body in mine back in 05, which held 500+ for a while. When I upgraded all the shafts, I went through LMills at Mid-Atlantic Diesel. He's in Hagerstown, Md. Trans is still flawless.

Made a call or two. Nobody seems to be responding. I tried to buy a fuel pressure valve from a well known vendor a few weeks ago. He took all of my info but never shipped. I called a week later and got some silly "I forgot" excuse. Still never got the part. Bought a FASS system from another well known vendor. Can't get a receipt out of him. Been trying for a week or so. I need it for warranty. What's going on with these vendors?

Try Thackers Transmissions, he is out of Waynesboro, PA. his number is 717-794- 9969. I cant say enough good about this guy. He did my 47re for about $2100. I got it done a few months after I bought the truck, had it for almost 3 yrs now, and the trans. performs flawlessly, nice firm shifts, and the shift kit really did wonders. And he stands behind his work, a few months after he worked on mine, something happened to my trans, ended up being the torque convertor control valve. He tore it all apart and fixed me up, all covered under warranty. This is all he does, and he wont jerk you around on getting you in like so many other shops do, gets you in and out, its like he appreciates your business or something, haha, dont see that much nowadays.

I wouldnt waste my time on Mid Atlantic Diesel, I tried to get my truck in there, called for a week straight, finally the guy returned my call, asked to get my truck on the schedule, said he would call me back, and never heard anything back from him, and my dad wanted twins put on his 03, but it wont be from that place, so I got it in to Antrim Diesel. but I would definitely give Thackers a chance. And he did my trans for $1,800, he quoted me at $2,100 and it ended up being less.

That's funny there Mr Mowl. Last we spoke you told me your VP44 was under warranty at CV diesel since they did the install. You were the one that said you were going to contact them and let me know how you made out while I worked on some trucks I already had on my schedule. . Last I checked you never called back. If that is how you felt, you should not have wasted both your time and mine on the phone so long.

Talking to Loyd now at Mid Atlantic. I hope to get something going shortly. Maybe injectors, studs and a turbo in the works. It was my suggestion. Loyd is cool.
