Best bearing grease?

Hi All,

A friend of mine is looking to have his 34' sailboat towed from Ogden to Bear Lake in a few weeks. The boat and trailer weight 13K. It's a triple axle trailer w/ electric brakes on all axles. It has a reg. 2-3/8 hitch. Sorry, no 5th wheel type of hitch. I mentioned to him that someone on TDR might be interested for a fee to tow it up there. He had it towed from CA last fall. If this isn't the right forum, please move it to the appropriate spot.

Thanks

Tom

Yes, it just happen to come up in conversation. 11' is the width of the boat. I imagine the trailer is about the same or less. I can find out exactly what the trailer widthg is and post it here.

This boat move is not for amateurs with a pickup. I wouldn't trust it to just anybody.

Your friend will need a professional hauler with knowledge and skill to make this haul. It will require overwidth and perhaps even overlength permits to move legally.

I think MMeier above is a commercial hauler who knows how, right?

I know how, but I "hung up" the transport deal several months back, due to high operating costs and extremely low rates being paid. Took on full time employment with the county for the time being, will get back into hauling when (if) things turn around though. Thanks for the plug though Harvey !!;)

Well, I was hoping a professional who is a TDR member would be interested in this job. Brian, my neighbor had a pro bring it to SLC from Santa Barbara in the fall. The boat needed some cosmetic work and it's now ready to be hauled up to Bear Lake. Bear Lake is on the UT/ID border, about 2. 5-3 hr from where it's currently parked. He's looking for a insured, lisenced hauler.

Look up member "GShail", he is a legit hauler and he lives just outside SLC. Might be able to get him to do a local run if he is not too busy, haven't spoken to him lately though.
