jgillott its purely for a want , Truck just turned 5000 miles and has zero issues as of yet , Really miss the power - mileage and exhaust note of my 06.....Now I will say i'm 50 years old this year and this was a present to myself - not looking for transmission ruining power just a little more pep in its step.

It sounds like maybe your mind is made up, but I would leave it alone. I doubt you will gain much in power or mileage and I am sure you know you will lose your warranty. I would just enjoy it how it is. I know that sounds boring but to mess with such a nice, new vehicle that is working good seems like asking for trouble. I would revisit the issue when the warranty is up.

Thanks Ken , Not real concerned about the warranty plus it will take me 10 years to run it out with what little miles I put on it , And there is definitely a power difference , Took a ride in my buddies full tuned 2017 Laramie truck and night and day between the 2.

A fully tuned 6.7 will kill a stock 68RFE sooner or later according the Bob4x4 who works on them for a dealer.

BTW I have the t-shirt, hat and lighter wallet from "tuning" my 2001.5.

I understand snoking I've been there done that also , This is my 9th cummins truck including twins and built transmissions , Again with this one just a little more pep (under 100 horse) and the exhaust note (and actual diesel smell again) is all I'm looking for , Oh and simplicity under the hood too......

I would google EFI Live and see if they can recommend an installer for you. EFI Live is now the programmer of choice for the later model Rams. You can dial in different settings such as stock, tow and so forth. If you leave this in the tow mode there is a moderate increase in HP and torque with improved fuel economy. The tow mode should not harm the 68RFE transmission but if you go to the insane HP/TQ levels you can kiss the 68RFE go by.

I have been using the Smarty S67 (no longer available) since 2009 set to the towing mode. This adds 60HP/120lb.-ft. to the rear wheels over stock. I now have 113,000 miles on the OD using the 68RFE transmssion and I tow a 34RL Cedar Creek 5er.

Put the BD throttle sensitivity booster on. If U want sound replace the tailpipe with a 5" unit. My Son did this and it does have more rumble.

Just remember, "I AM MY OWN WARRANTY STATION".

Are you comparing apples to apples? Was your buddy's the same gearing, rear axle and cab configuration as ours? Did it have a tune for increased horsepower?

There is some torque management with the stock tuning to help preserve the powertrain's longevity. So I can see how a deleted and tuned 6.7l will have some more 'get-up.' A lot of tuners recommend headstuds and reinforcing the transmission if you're looking at increasing the horsepower, even a mild amount.

As for more fuel economy, I'm not sure. TFL did a highway mpg test where a Ram 2500 4x2 got ~23mpg. A lot of 4x4 owners have reported getting 21-22mpg highway. These new SCR-equipped systems seem fairly efficient, so I don't know how much of a mpg gain you'll see, but I'm eager to see your feedback on that.

I'd keep your stock emissions in your garage. The EPA and a lot of states have really focused on enforcing emissions regulations as of late. Sooner or later, there is going to be universal emissions testing for all new vehicles in all states...at which point a delete is not going to be viable.

Actually there is a s@@t load of power difference,mileage very little.I do recommend deep pockets though

Hey guys I do appreciate the info so far , Kpear yes apples to apples except he's running 4" lift on 37's - night and day power difference running an mm3 setup , Also i've never seen better than 16.5 mpg mixed city/highway 30 mile one way to work 5 days a week ? And I definitely plan on keeping all removed items , Firemansdiesel I did see them and they are a maybe if nothing turns up closer as they are 2 1/2 hrs away - Thanks for the info though.

FYI - Don't ever come to California with a Delete Kit on a truck. If for some reason you have to go to the dealer for any reason there's a strong possibility that they won't release the truck until the truck is back to stock. Needless to say VERY EXPENSIVE.
