I think the new 6 speeds are supposed to have a little better OD ratio, something like . 72-. 74 or something, compared to the G56 of . 79. . Not sure though, so I think that is why they went with 4. 10's and 3. 73's. Scotty

What are they saying the power rating is on these 07's? My guess is they are stating it as the same until they move all of the 06's. I will be ready to trade up to an 07 though. I would love it more if you could get the megacab with a long bed.

Holding off on the 6. 7 for at least 3 years. By then, it will be time to change again due to 2010's emissions standars.

The 5. 9 I've ordered will have to make it at least 6 years. Maybe even 15.

everyone makes such a big deal about the 4500 and 5500, but if you look at it how many does ford sell?? chevy made a 4500 with a buggy type axle, how many of those did they sell?? don't think dodge doesn't know this, tell me again how long did it take to get a real crew cab?? what makes anyone think they would waste time on a market that doesn't exist?? even medium duty trucks that ford sells(f650 and f750)are poor sellers. I hardly every see an f450 or f550 driving around

Around here, I see all kinds of f-450's, mostly flat beds and service beds for construction companys, mobile mechanics, plumbers, all kinds of tradesman. Most are now equipped with Diesels. Don't see too many f-550's but I do see some f-650 & f-750 dump trucks. The Chevy's are more rare around here.

I wish!

Where I live you would have to run your CC through 3 times during the fill up cuz the stinking pump software only allows 100 bucks worth.

Pay at the pump is limited to 50 or 75 most places around here. I stopped the other day at a place that only allowed you to fill in 30 increments, even if you pre-paid.

As far as F-450 and F-550's there are tons of them around here. Everything from service trucks (tire dealer, phone company, electric, cable, townships, not to mention fire trucks). I think dodge would be crazy not to get in on that market. I bet I see 20+ F-550's a day.

Dave

I second that for the Ohio market. There are a ton of them around here.

I see many more F-450's than 550's around here but they are in the same applications, service trucks... cable companies, utlity companies, contractors, tow trucks, small fire trucks are 550's and some of the farmers/ranchers have 450's for pulling big livestock trailers.

I think the initial point is still valid... it is a niche market. Even though we have a Chevy truck center in town that sells med. duty GM products, I don't see them on the road.

The new Cab & Chassis is interesting and it will be worth watching to see if the aftermarket companies can circumvent the emissions equipment and unleash all those cubes...

There is (was?) a half page artical and a big pic of a crew cab (not Mega) cab and chassis in "Fourwheeler" - but they were calling it chassis/cab? I hope their not puting it together bass akwards? (Not sure of the month - but prolly the current one. Mines already hit the circular file... )

It was a rear/pass side view. No front view and no nameplate that I could see (to indicate 4500/5500).

I keep hearing aboot these 6 speed autos - please tell me that they will still be offering a gear drive!?

Hey guys as far as the credit card deal, use a atm/debit card. Where I fill up there was a notice on the pump about shutting off at a certain price and having to re-swipe it for more. I have been using my debit card and it does not shut off, I can go as high as $110. 00.

Thanks for the clarification... Now I can start a rumor about the Allison transmissions coming soon>>> Kidding.

a little off topic, but who wants an allison anyways? stock they dont handle the low rpm torque any better than the dodge transmission.

from what i have seen, anything more than a 70hp chip on a duramax and they slip too...

Not me, I don't like they ones I have driven and I have seen the gas 8100 blow them out.

Wonder what it costs to mod one of those?

Same here, seems it is always shifting for whatever reason, locking up here, etc. , My buddy with the trans shop says parts are pretty pricey too, something like $2300 just for a set of planets??!! :--)

Tommygun, have you heard any news on wether or not the 6. 7 will be in the lighter rigs, ie 3500srw megacab. We are planning on an 07 megacab this winter and I was hoping for a megacab,3500,srw,6. 7,5sp auto and in a new color!! OH yeah Larmie. I emailed Dodge and got the standard answer, " the 2007 specifications are not available yet stay tuned" :(

Not that you heard it here, but look for the 6. 7L to show up in later 07 trucks - like 07. 5

You know dodge and half year models... they LOVE doing that!!
