This might be old news for some but spicer is now making a new greaseable u-joint to replace the pos joint on the steering shaft of the 1'st gens.

Both the families 92's (1-2wd and 1-4wd) have been fixed locally at Holbrook Specialties Four Wheel Drive in Gladstone Or. The fix was around $150 which is a lot better pricing than the Borgeson(sp) shaft.

Good to know. Does this replace the rag joint or the joint at the steering box end? Any info on part numbers? Spicer parts should be available through NAPA for those of us who would install it ourselves.

I will see if the old man has a receipt with the part number on it.

JF - It's the joint at the box.

Here is the ph# for Holbook if anyone want's to give then a call > 503/655-4747

Veery Interesting

I am very interested in this repair as I don't really want to buy the whole shaft. Please post the part # or PM me so I can source here above the 49th.
