My truck has recently developed a lope at idle. Not visable on the tach but I hear a lope in the "clatter". Enough than my wife asked what was wrong with the truck! Have an Edge, changed settings but that did not help. I guess I will try running it without the Edge. 11k miles, new fuel filter at 8k. Edge has been on for 7k miles and this just started. Could it be the cooler weather (cooler is 70 degrees here in Phx). Other posts regarding idle were ususally about fuel pressure - could this be it? Or is this normal after break-in?

I have recently noticed what might be called a lope. I would call it more of a surge but like you say, not visible on the tach. It also only happens to me when the truck is cold. Totally stock engine, no mods as of yet.

I tried an EZ last weekend and right off mine loped too. It also did it for a couple days after taking it off then smoothed out. It only did it at the first startup of the day and went away as soon as I pulled away.

Keith thanks for the tip, I'm going to touch up the connector with dielectric compound.

i have the lope and posted about it along time ago it really pi$$es me off. it loped before and after the which had no effect on it. it seemed to do it right after i change my fuel filter:confused:

its either injector, lift/fuel pump/, twisted fuel line, air in fuel, mis management of fuel delivery by computer. ez has nothing to do with this problem that is now starting to rear its ugly head. i thought for a while that i was the only one but i see at least 5-8 people on this board having the same problems.

my trucks starts and runs fine just idles funny. and when in cruise ctrl i can almost tell the surging is their. i think i can feel it now b/c of increase hp by ez.

my thought exactly, more pressure makes the problem more appearant (sp). But there seems to be no performance decrease...

Edge Easy is causing that. Wildcat diesel is sending me a new one. They said mine was bad. I hope the new one that is suppose

to be here tomorow doesnt do it. If it does I'M going to ask for

my money back. :(

I have a definite surge at cold idle

which can be seen on tach.

It started right after installing edge ez.

Called edge and they will replace it if desired but "may do the same thing"

with new edge. They also stated is is not

harmful to engine!

Love the h. p. gains.

unhooked the battery to reset the throttle position to see if that would help to no avail. still have the lope.

when i crank the truck in the morning and hold a steady rev for more than a minute the throttle backs down on it own and then shoots right back up. down then up down then up. is this just the grid heater pulling down the engine.

Yesterday I recieved my new edge easy. Today went to town to

send the old one back to Wild Cat and guess what. My new one

does the lopeing but not as bad. My cruise control seemed to work

better also. Guess I'll run it and see if it gets worse.

lopeing

my '03 does it, I didn't notice it until I straight piped it. sounds like a cylinder randomly isn't firing?

Told the tech that and he said it sounds perfect and idles perfect at 750RPM just like the factory wants!

Hate the "lope" sound!
