yellow and silver Bilstein differences
Getting a little more light on this subject from Bilstein
Corporate sales via phone conversation yesterday.
1. yellow/blues and silver 5100s are equal quality but with some internal
difference
2. 5100s have difference in valving from yellow/blues, same otherwise
3. silver 5100s come in couple length choices as we know, however the 0-1"
(rears) is the choice applicable to the 4x4 standard factory lift. Forgot to
ask and clarify the fronts as applicable
4. Any other difference(internal/external) within identical model numbers can
be identified by a separate code/date on external shock body.
That seems to mean vendors can order valving, etc. , other than Bilstein standard specs for a given model number. If this is so I can ask a vendor if his offerings are in any way spec'd differently and have that external code/date as evidence. Have any of you noted any code/date on your yellows or silvers? Have silvers worked on standard factory 4x4s? Larry
