I cannot speak to the basic suspensions of either manufacturer, however I recently put on KORE's Race Series suspension (w/ a few other pieces they make as well) on my 06. If their basic system is manufactured as well and works as well as the their Race Series, then I would highly recommend KORE. I am very pleased with the system thus far and it meets my needs of handling street, rough roads, trail, ranch, off road, and towing.



Good luck with your decision as it seems both are quality systems.

Just put Kore Chase on my new megacab. Had Kore/Bilstein race on my last 04. 5 quadcab. New chase does NOT ride nicely on expansion joints. Overall, the truck rode much nicer in STOCK form. My quadcab was a lot smoother everywhere after putting the Kore system on. They tell me to send in my Fox shocks for revalving. I don't have time to do that crap!

Mega - I have the same truck as you do currently. As I said in the earlier post I am running the Race with Race series trac bar, control arms, sway bar, and 2. 5 Fox's. There was a fairly dramatic change (for the better) in ride since the swap. Not only is the rear not kidney jarring anymore (talkingo n the phone, my voice would sound as if someone was pounding on my back!), but the front end is much more controlled and settled.

I've got the same situation with my Kore Chase, it's not the dream ride that it's all hyped up to be. Sure, the ride is better, but I don't think it's right. But then again, Kore's website doesn't claim to make your truck ride like a luxury car.

Yes, I was offered revalving, and I think I'll give it a shot.

When did you get your system installed? I got mine done around March or April of this year. Maybe Kore got a bad batch of Fox shocks? Seems odd that they offered the revalving after installation but not as an option before.

Do I like the system... ... ... Heck yeah.

Would I do it again? Only if revalving makes a major difference.

I would definately offer a test ride before I recommended the system.

Lorenz and Carli

You might check out Lorenz's site. He offers two degrees of load carrying coils:6% or 23% I believe. Good guy. Sage Carli is excellent also. They will take the time to listen.

I would suggest talking to the designers,have your specific goals in mind and,or just come out to Glamis and watch all 3 in action we have posted links to videos of the suspensions in action in the past. This fall after the weather cools there wil be more. Stay tuned.

I have Kore suspensions on my 03' and my 06' trucks and they both ride much better than stock on the street, corner better in the cayons and are totally unbelievable off road. I am located out in palmdale and will be happy to let anyone looking at a Kore System go for a ride.

I have the same harsh problem with expansion joints with my Fox 2. 0 Chase kit. Almost all other situations are better than stock. I like the system except for expansion joints. The system was reasonably priced at $X,XXX. MPassmore's system is not the Chase system. The Race system is 2. 5 times the cost of the Chase. In addition he ponyied up for the extra goodies that make it cost $!,!!!. I don't think it's an apples to apples comparison. Any system that anybody buys from any manufacture must include an adjustable track bar and they ain't cheep from KORE, although certainly up to the task.

I would try Lorenz, Carli, or Thuren. In your original post you said basic suspension. Don Thuren sells a set of King 2. 5 shocks for a stock suspension that sells for less than the Chase. Those shocks should bring a stock suspension into submission. I think that Lorenz & Carli are better at dealing with people than KORE (corporate, not their dealers) and their stuff is good too.

If some of you are not satisfied with the ride of your system (whatever it is), don't forget you can change the ride a significant amount by adjusting the nitrogen charge. My Bilstein system was recommended 200psi. I am now at 280 (max 300) with much improved ride. More pressure, softer ride (seems backswards doesn't it). Re-valving may not be necessary.



This will be my next up grade with the '06 so I have been looking at what's available since I bought my Bilstein system (back in the TRex days). Thuren has a cool kit at a good price. BUT, it doesn't have springs and mini-packs and that is very important. The Lorenz systems are nice and have a 2. 0 Fox with adjustable damping which has my interest. That way you don't have to re-valve if you want to change things a little. I don't think Lorenz's springs and packs are Kore standard though (just my seat of the pants impression). So, I'm looking at the Kore Chase. I've been satisfied with the Bilstein system. They are all good and a giant step forward. If you don't like the ride of a performance suspension as sold, at least you have the ability to change it and adjust it, something you can't do with stock.

I am still playing with the N2 PSI. Right now I am at 200 PSA and I will see how it works for a bit and manipulate it from there.





Als, Brian has a good point in saying comparing my system to a basic system is not apples to apples. I did not mean for it to be, just plugging into the conversation. I also seems there are some folks in here that have had both the basic and some form of upgrade.



As for CS from the companies... thus far I have had excellent experiences w/Sage @ Carli ssuspension, Greg (and now his father Miles) at DRC (dist. for KORE), and the folks at KORE have been great as well.

I never seem to include all my thoughts in one post, no mater how many times I edit it. I think alot of the fun in buying something for our trucks or any other purchase for that mater, is the hunt. I'm very happy with my KORE Chase on my longbed 4x4 quad cab. Note that with any suspension, adding some weight back there will help, especially on expansion joints. They are a particularly nasty thing for a HD truck where you can't have a real soft ride and still get weight capacity with reasonable amounts of suspension travel. Adding weight to the bed with a liner, auxiliary fuel tank, plywood, etc. helps a lot.

My Definition.....

I too am looking at both. I'm rarely off-road, just farm roads or hunting trails. I don't plan on flying through the woops. Basically looking for something better than stock and getting a lift so that I can install 35" tires. I have been looking at the Bilstein setup from both Kore and Lorenz. Kore is approximately $500. 00 more than Lorenz but their kit includes the VR springs giving 3" of lift and Lorenz offers HD springs giving 2" of lift. It will cost me approximately $400-500 to get the suspension installed so what are the advantages of getting the Kore Recon over Lorenz Bilstein? For my application wouldn't it make sense to save the money I would have spent on the Kore system and use that for the install cost? Will the extra inch of lift make a difference clearing 35's with no rub if I plan to mount them on the factory rims? Does anybody have any pics of their truck with the Lorenz Bilstein setup? Their website just has the sway-away setup I can't get a feel for the difference. Kore shows a truck on their website with just the leveling kit which is their 2" HD spring lift so I can get a feel for the difference between their HD spring and VR spring. Has anybody ever mixed and matched a Kore Leveling kit with a Lorenz Add-A-Leaf and Bilsteins? That would allow you to get the leveling kit first and add the rear components at a later time.
