Heated Steering Wheel......Engaged!!

We are getting some cold temps here in Central Oregon but no moisture at all, should have decent snow in the mountains and some rain in town if not snow but dry as can be still. Going to be a looooong fire season if that doesnt change soon.

No fire danger here, ground is saturated...people are worried about water lines freezing. Wet ground will freeze deeper.

If ground is coated with snow before it drops off super cold it’s not so bad. Snow insulates the ground to a certain degree..

From what I have seen a lot of people on the Eastern end have all been nailed. I think they reported like 26 weather related crashes in Conneticut alone. I grew up on the East coast and also spent the time at loring and it still amazes me with the people that cannot drive in that weather. When I spent the time in Vermont there were always dozens of vehicles in the median between North and South lanes, of course I was usually poking along between 5 and 25mph depending on conditions. Those were long drives but I always made it to where I was going without waiting for a wrecker.

Did you get that snow blower for the new toy yet ?.

Yes, new Honda is in a warm garage full of fuel waiting for it's first taste of snow...

Kubota snowblower search has been pushed to the back burner. Missed the used one in Vermont by a day...

Have you looked into the UTV snow blowers? Canned ham style of course :D

I'm not sure what you have for a Kubota but unless it's an L series the front mounts are few and far between and are big $$$$. They do make mid ship mounts for the B/BX series but they are big bucks as im sure you have found out. Plus theres an issue of gpm on the pumps which the front mounts require more of, and the B series is generally short of for the topic at hand. I suppose it's personal preference but I hate the rear mount jobs. It's just so completely uncomfortable and unnatural I'd rather do anything but if the job is over 10 minutes...but then again I've had ruptured discs in my neck well over 10 years. That may be a tad influential on my part :)
Just personal preference of course, but when you get up into that price range a UTV snowblower becomes an option. You've already got the machine :D

Hoopty Deux is just a capable as its predecessor in the snow....I was sure hoping it was going to be...
Haven’t got any snow Tires on it, just some half worn Continental all seasons that came on it. Would slide sideways on occasion on sections with a high crown but remained under control.. worst thing was the weasel snot calcium slurry on the centerline of the road....far more dangerous than plain old cold snow..

Even Taos, NM, gets snow in July.

Yes, but there’s a 5000+ ft difference in elevation with Butte and 6500ft difference in Taos. My point is it snows at least a little most winter days in northern Aroostook county. The cold seems to wring the moisture out of a clear sky some days.

Will I might be speaking to soon but it might be a snowy year here in the Midwest. It is snowing right now and they are forecasting 1 to 3 inches today. We already have two inches of snow on the ground, the grass is covered. This makes it the first time in a very long time that we have had three different snow days this early in Nov.

Temp was 28° last night, everything half soaking wet. Cold front came through, was pushing a snow storm in front of it.. dropped 2” of wet snow. Then temp started dropping on my way home. 4° this morning and everything flash froze. Wife can’t even get the bird feeders open....Woo Hoo....
