losing power

just curious... ... . i saw a guy this weekend on the road with a 99 model 24v. he said he was losing power. when he first bought the truck he was able to pull his trailer with no problem. now he has no power going up hills. what could have been his problem knowing nothing more than that. btw, his rig sounded a little noisy. noisier than mine...

The 24v are notorious for faulty lift pumps. As the fuel pressure weakens the truck will loose power.



Could have been as simple as a clogged fuel filter or air filter. Maybe he doesn't do a good job at maintaining his rig.

I talked to a guy the hauls RVs for a living and his air filter was so dirty that big chunks fell off when we took it out, he said his mileage was down. He had some kinda performance box on it and no gauges too. Kinda makes you wonder.
