there are a couple expensive products out there one from cummins http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...-L2lCA&usg=AFQjCNFJt5etBmiv9OjFEReBe_ns8cAKhg.

do a crankcase breather search. other than these kits I believe its only diff ways to catch the drips and still allow system to breath. some have drilled into your valve cover and put in breathers. if your long term goal is stopping completely due to alot of towing and hill climbs and descends I would say the kit. but also every truck is allittle different on the ammount. do a search on here for alot of crankcase breather threads. good luck

Take the poor design off of it and replace it with a 6-8 foot by 3/4 inch heater hose.

Route it up ove the motor then down to the frame behind the motor.

No more lost oil, no more plugged radiator from the oil vapors either.

A local Cummins tech here sourced out the 12 valve fix for mine. He's in San Diego. It was inexpensive compared to the Cummins kit. Killed a lot of the vent hose drip.

Dodge had a TSB on that problem. It has been quite awhile since I have seen this brought up but if I recall anything over a 21ish degree forward down angle lets the oil run out significantly (as in quarts and gallons) and the tsb took care of this by relocating the breather spot from the front to the side of the engine. Also if I recall the kit itself wasnt so expensive from dodge it was the labor that was a killer. So maybe if willing to do it yourself you might be able to save a chunk. I think it requires pulling the vp.

You might try a search on here for it and the archives should have some stuff on it as it was an active topic off and on for a while back in 2001 and 2002 or 2003.

yes the kit from cummins is $ do you have a picture of what this kit is. assuming it would work on a 24 valve?

I sold the truck so no pics. As I recall,he replaced the breather cap with a 12v one and a hose that went into the fill cap on the valve cover. Sorry I can't help more but it was super effective. Total price with install was maybe $100.

BarryG is onto it, Firefighter isn't talking about drips or blowby but quarts of oil pumping out of the blowby hose in a matter of minutes. . . basically the oil runs to the front of the engine on a very steep descent and covers the blowby vent, then crankcase pressure just pumps it out.

The fix is to move the blowby hose setup to the same location as the '98 24-valve and 12-valve engines which is on the driver side near the fuel filter setup.
