Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Loss of power

Hello all I was on my way to work today and a had a sudden loss of power. The check engine light came on. I know I need to have the computer read, but I can't wait until Tuesday. What might be the problem??????

There is a good chance it's the VP44. Do you have any blueish/white smoke? Where are you and somebody might be able to read codes this weekend. Look out for 0216 code! :{

The VP44 is your injection pump and the 0216 code is the code indicating you have a failure with your injection pump.

0216 is a timing failure in the VP-44 (injection pump) aka- the VP death code :{

Just to let you know that I had the computer read and it showed a map sensor code. Tried to clear the code and it still came up with a bad map sensor. Got one on order, hope to find instructions on how to replace it. Thanks for your help... . Ken

Hello again, received the new sensor, put it in and I got my power back, I'm glad it was not the injection pump. Thanks for your help..... Ken
