Hello all.

I am a new member and I am looking for some help!!!!!

I have a 2005 Ram 3500, quad cab, 5. 9 Cummins, 4X4 with 50K miles.

I had a Quadzilla STD 100HP box on it but, have removed it.

Here is the problem... . About 6 weeks ago I was on my way to work and was getting on the FWY, I had my foot in it but was not on the floor. I heard a "pop" come from under the hood, it almost sounded like a backfire through the carb... I know it doesn't have a carb but thats was what it sounded like. I did have the Quadzilla box on it and, it was set on the 70 hp position. Anyway, after the "pop" it felt like it lost power. "It did not through a check engine light" I thought I had some bad fuel so I ran a few tanks threw it but no change. I changed the fuel and air filters but, still no change. I took it into the dealer and they could not find anything wrong, all the turbo hoses and innercooler were ok! They even said there was 24lbs of boost .

The problem is really noticable from 40mph on up under full throttle, it just feels like someone removed two cylinders. It does ok off of the line but, it's still not the same. It even sounds different idling, (quieter) This truck felt like a hot rod, I could beat almost anyone off the line, and it would pull like crazy all the way up to 110 mph.

Let me know if any of you have any ideas.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Sounds like you lost a hose on the pressure side of the turbo.

Look for leaks at the clamped portion of the charged air system. Also look for leaks in the IC. I thought that the 05 units had the metal edn caps. Mike
