The other day I lost a hub cap,
so I go buy one and lose it too
:{ . So after I blow a C note out the window I get to looking at the lug nuts for a reason. I notice that 3 of the studs stick out from the lugnut and that the shoulder that the hubcap clips to is deeper into the wheel. The hubcap can't get a good grip on the lugnut. At some point they were over tightened. I go by the 5 screw stealer and they notice the larger tires and say "since these rims have been removed and reinstalled we're no liable"
I told them that I torqued the lugs myself to 130ft-lb each time they were rotated. No Air wrench!!! They said SORRY not our problem.
Seems to me either they were over torqued at the factory or the specified torque is to much. What is my first step to battling DC. I am convinced that I did not cause this and with only 20k miles they should be more agreeable. I'm going Monday to argue some more at the stealer. Will keep u informed.
