Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) lost afc screw plug????

i was under the hood today washing down my dusty engin and found that the screw plug that u have to take out to adjust the star wheel is missing. i dont know how long i have been driving like this. well last time i messed with it was three weeks ago. does any one have a part number for it? also will it hurt if i drive without it, and if i got a little water in there is it going to mess it up?. i dont want to start it if it is.

I don't have the PN but I believe that is open to the governor area of the pump. I wouldn't drive it with it un covered as the pump is lubed by engine oil and anything that gets in there will end up in the oil. Any bosch injection pump shop should be able to get it for you - or even have one in stock.

Today i went to cummins and the dealer. both didnt have it and both dont know wher i could get a new one. does anyone know the thred type so i can see if i can get a bolt or something to plug it with?
