Archived Lost all oil

Friend of mine W/2001 4X4 QC L/B,

On the way home pulled into driveway noticed the ding and check gauges light illuminated and saw the OIL pressure gauge descend to 0 then he quickly shut off truck and opened hood, from the starter down on the DRIVER SIDE, seen all the oil sprayed entirely everywhere below that mid-point in the engine compartment, checked the dip stick, NOTHING, too late to see if there were any holes or where the Oil was escaping from.

Any ideas?

Oil line to turbo?? Oil filter??

Would check the head gasket, valve cover gasket, and the front cover gasket. I was like hoefler at first sight, until I remembered the turbo and oil filter was on the passenger side.

Check to see if the old gasket stayed on the motor instead of the filter. I've seen it before. Two gaskets on the filter is bad .

I doubt if any damage was done.

Ok, in the daylight, It appears it may be the Oil pressure sensor that goes to the ECM, has determined that its not as high as the Head, its below the injection pump.

Ok, trouble found, NAPA oil pressure switch for aux. liftpump, gushing oil from the 3 prongs on the device.
