Lost and Found???

Had this thought... wouldn't it be kind of neat to have an area somewhat like the "Member's Rigs Spotted" forum that let's former owners post truck VIN's they have sold? Then when the NEW owner buys said truck and joins the TDR they can post that they have "found" the truck. I've always wondered who bought my 2000 Ram and where it has traveled to now. What do you all think?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea for the most part. Do see a possible security issue, though. This site has been hit by hackers once, to my knowledge. With CarFax, maybe someone could use the info for bad intentions.

I'm like you, I always wonder were my past machines have ended up. I don't know if I even have a vin # off of anything I've sold. On this note... Halloween night 1968, Dad came home with a brand new VW Beetle. I was 4. Fast forward 14 years. I helped my best friend tow home a beat up VW giveaway as a parts vehicle. We disassembled it and used quite a few major parts,(floor pan, eng. , trans) We decided to cut the mashed up body in half so we could move it easily. Under the dash near the ashtray a twelve year old kid had written his name in red marker. This was my Dads car!!! By the way, it's STILL going and resides in Tampa. There, it's long but you got a post! Greg

LOL! I tried and tried to get the owner of Milosh Dodge in Lake Orion, MI to join!!! Really I did! :-laf



I traded mine in... . that's why I'm wondering where it went. I have no idea who eventually ended up with the "red beast".



bmoeller: I'm probably just naive but what could one do with a VIN# that would be bad? I thought CarFax just told you the repair history???
