got on the throttle this morning and got some serious backfires that wouldnt quit, i was right in front of my house, so i idled down the driveway really rough sounding, pouring smoke out of the pipe, i shut it down and just tried to start it back up, and for sure it has that busted valve/guide, or bent valve sound, or hole in the piston problem, engine was just over 4100rpm when it happened, im not happy, im going to rebuild it one more time and get rid of the truck, :mad:
 
lol... I turned 4000rpm in my old 12v too many times to count, and it's still rolling...



whose springs are you running? what boost level?

Truck was fully warmed up, right? Only reason I'm askin is was right in front of your house...

I too would like to know what springs/boost/temps you were running. What fueling program?

it was fully warmed up, it was on the way home from a trip, I THINK IT HIT AROUND 65 PSI BOOST AND THE EGT WAS AROUND 1100 DEG, as for fueling it has industrial injection cp-3 and II BFI INJECTORS,TST TWINS PROGRAM STACKED WITH MP-8, AND A SMARTY REVO TNT VIN SPECIFIC WITH TWO STAGE SNOW, THE BOTTOM END IS BALANCED FOR 5500 RPM, I BOUGHT THE CYLINDER HEAD ALREADY BUILT, SUPPOSED TO HANDLE 4500 RPM AT 60 PSI BOOST, IM PRETTY SURE IT WAS A TOP END FAILURE, I COOLED OFF A LITTLE TODAY SO MOST LIKELY WILL BUILD IT FOR A LITTLE MORE POWER, OR WILL TAME IT DOWN TO AROUND 450-500 H. P. AND CUT THE RPM BACK AND RUN A SMALLER SINGLE TURBO AND SELLL THE TWINS, WANT TO ADD A COUPLE MORE INCHES OF LIFT SO I WONT NEED THAT MUCH POWER, IT WAS A HANDFUL WITH THE 8 INCH LIFT AND THE MOTOR I JUST HURT... . :{
 
You are one that does not learn from your first blow up! I hope you learn from the second one. That is why they have a red line on the tack! It is not a gas rig.
 
Triple the power in any engine and stuff will happen usually sooner rather than later... ... ..... It's fun just not cheap

exactly, i never blamed the truck, just getting tired of working on it, when it was at 539 rear wheel h. p. it never broke down and got 19 mpg, at 650 rear wheel h. p. i roasted one at 6000 miles but that was from a hung injector, this was clearly my fault. i over revved it :D

sorry grandpa thought the tach was a fuel guage, the truck is a toy ,the motor is was supposed to handle 1000h. p. but came apart just shy of that sorry you got upset over something i will fix and pay for... ... ... ... ... .

for sure, i just bought a high mileage long block for 200 bucks,, i will start buying parts as soon as the christmas dent wears off, might as well build two lol:cool:
