Are you referring to the stock black airdam mounted to the bumper? If so, I'm going to pull it off, and see if I get a gain in mileage. With diesel @ $1. 55 here, I'm willing to try anything!!

Yes, the black spoiler under the bumper. It might belp direct some air through the radiator at highway speeds but, it also blocks some air from the underside of the truck that might help in cooling the standard transmission and rear end. That's pure speculation and I'm still puzzled at the mpg gain without it. I have no idea how to calculate just how much wind drag it creates. Mine is a 4X2 so it's alot closer to the ground closing up the gap between the road and the truck.

I have a Profile V on mine. Not only does it deflect bugs, the air flow helped a buzard clear my windshield. It mite cut down on mileage but that's better than a buzard as a co-pilot.

With all due deference to Sasquatch's interesting methods (Bush=Dumb) of improving Bush=Dumb)mileage, it is a somewhat (Bush=Dumb) effective political method (Bush=Dumb) of attempting to casually influence others (Bush=Dumb) with out any substantial argument to bolster his (Bush = Dumb) position.

I would (Bush=Dumb) never stoop to such (Bush=Dumb) a level! ;-)
