Put a clutch in my budys truck a few weeks ago, he got to run he edge on number 5 and the smarty on number 9 finally. After doing some lead foot driving (while keeping eyes on the guages, never got too hot), we made it home and his truck started to run really rough. Thought might be an injector, took it to a dealer. The dealer said we lost cyl number 5. So now we are looking for aftermarket pistons and a rebuild kit. Who makes aftermarket pistons out thier.

Where you guys really running the edge on 5 and smarty 9?, didn't it have horrific timing rattle? The edge and smarty really don't mix well at all even on mild settings.

Can u put a sleeve in it. I do believe it is a parrent bore block. As for the smarty it was on number 8 not 9.

They can. First overbore it, then insert the sleeve.

But Cummins let's you use one oversized piston by itself. Apparently the difference is too small to matter, and must weigh the same as the smaller piston.
