Well, Heres some more details...
Was southbound on I-75 about the 116 mile marker (in Ohio) . I felt the truck slide out to the passanger side. I tried to recover, but it slid too far... I was into the median almost instantly. I tried to recover. The median is like 12-16 ft wide at that point. I was headed striaght for a northbound tractor-trailer. I closed my eyes just before impact, braced myself and prepared for the crash. It was the most horrific sound (me going south at 45 and a semi northbound at 55) I have ever heard. I plowed into him, and was thrown from the driver seat against the passanger door. I was knocked out at this point. I bowed the door out pretty far. Thank God it held. I would be DOA otherwise. I came to after about 5 minutes or so. I freaked at first, as I thought maybe I was sitting in a lane and might get hit again. I then realized that the traffic was stopped both directions. The Highway Patrol was already there, as was the paramedics. I tried to move. I hurt myself really bad. Both knees bleeding, and my left shoulder basically useless. I managed to pry the passanger door open and crawled out. The paramedics were astounded. They said that they expected to need a body bag. My head took out the passanger side door glass, and my back did the same to the door itself.
I am truly lucky to be here today. I could have been thrown out the side, or even through the windshield.
I am amazed at how well the cab area of the truck held up.
THere is nothing left in front of the firewall, nor behind the cab.
