Thats incredible to have that much damage and you are still with us. Glad you made it and hope your injuries remain minor and heal quickly. Good luck on the new truck.

Glad you are ok. Since it sounds like it is totalled, you may be able to purchase the truck from the Ins. company, salvage everything you want off of it and part the rest out while maybe even making a few bucks on it.

Good luck!

Glad you made it thru...

What Scooby said... buy it back from ins. , then take your time parting it out.

The 3rd gens are pretty nice, you know what the 2's are, look close at gettin' a 3. I have heard some real good things about 'em. I'm lookin' at 'em too..... :D

WOW!:--) Can you spell BONDO? Glad your OK, just amazing.

Glenn

Just curious, were you wearing your seatbelt?

Let me guess, the insurance company is still trying to figure out if its totalled, right?

Seriously, I must say that I am extremely impressed at how well the cab are of the truck held up. I would have thought there to be more damage to the cab area. Thank god it didn't fold. It's amazing that the front windshield didn;t come out too  .

Wow, I'll bet you look at life a little different now eh?

What kind of damage did the semi sustain?

Kev

Holy I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER Mack !!! Glad you are OK. You are a very lucky man. Heal fast and enjoy whatever you replace it with.

:( WOW!!!:( :) I am glad that your OK. :) If nothing else, this reinforces the basics of why we all love these trucks. We can gripe all we want about DC this and DC that. But in the end, DC's engineers who designed these trucks should know that their attention to the strength in the cab design has been vindicated. I hear some complain about the thick pillars in the doors. After seeing these pictures and reading your account, I am truly thankful that I am an owner of one of these fine machines. :D

Get well soon and you might as well get an 03 model. These trucks only get better.

Take it from someone that has been there. That is a horrible noise. I had a similar accident on Feb 15th 1980. I was 20. Count your lucky stars. I broke & dislocated my right shoulder, broke and dislocated my right collar bone, broke 6 fingers, and lost 20 teeth. Between the hospital, therapy and the dentists I was out of work for a year. My right shoulder still hurts. Just remember this: no matter how bad of a day you are having it is still a good day. I am glad to hear you are OK. The hell with the truck. Buy a new one!

Well, Insurance said I cannot have my clutch, unless I repace it with another one. WTF, Its totalled... No need for the clutch anyway.

Several have asked... Did I wear my seatbelt?

I do not remember. I usually put it on in bad weather, but not in good weather. I did not hit windshield, but did hit passanger door. I am thinking I did not put it on.

Please, no comments on I shoulda, ect... Its over and I am alive.

I have added some pics of the engine damage up close and personal.

Have not decided on looking for a 2001-2002 style, or goning for a 2003. I am gonna search around and see what is the best deal out there.

Again, I appreciate everyones' concerns and condolances (sp?)
