Our "new" reloading bench

Well, after 17 years of loyal friendship, companionship, and never ending trust, I had to put my dog to sleep. She has just gotten to old and this South Texas heat was making her just miserable. But at 119 years old, I would be too. Cinnamon was her name. I had this dog longer than my kids. If all good dogs do go to heaven, she'll be sitting on the throne. :(

yea we sure get attached to our animals. Sorry you had to say good bye to a loyal friend.

My 3yr old chocolate lab can't wait for me to get home from work to go out & throw the frissbie. But the first thing I do is get on this board & a couple of others for 2 hours until he starts pestering me to go outside. He's sleeping by my feet right now just waiting for me to push the keyboard in.

What breed was cinnamon?

Sorry to hear about your losing your buddy. Seventeen years is outstanding for a dog. Do you plan on providing a home for another four footed friend? I sure enjoy the companionship my BC gals provide.

MEMBER OF THE FAMILY

What would I do without you,

My precious, furry friend?

Part mischief, but all blessing,

And faithful to the end!

You look at me with eyes of love;

You never hold a grudge... .

You think I'm far to wonderful

To criticize or judge.

It seems your greatest joy in life

Is being close to me...

I think God knew how comforting

Your warm, soft fur would be.

I know you think you're human,

But I'm glad it isn't true...

The world would be a nicer place

if folks were more like you!

A few short years are all we have;

One day we'll have to part...

But you , my pet, will always have

A place within my heart.

Found this somewhere. Thought it was fitting. Sorry for your loss

JNelson- I am sorry to hear of your loss. . Pete, my soon to be 7 year old Red Heeler is getting up there in years, and it seems like these are his "Golden Years". . I come home, he is so happy to see me; He goes to the lake with me, we go run errands together, he even sleeps in bed with me and the girlfriend. . I make it known that him and I are a package deal. . I do not know what I would do without him, and I too, am dreading that day that you had to face. . Sorry to hear of your loss, and no matter what you do, be it get another dog, no one dog will ever have the same personality, looks, or behavior as your 'baby'... Some things just cannot be replaced. I hope you and your family are at ease that your companion is not having to deal with this heat we are enduring, and that she is in a far better place now.

-Chris-

Sorry to hear of that. Last fall I had to put down a companion of 20 years. Had her since I was a kid, so I understand to a degree what you suffer.

Just keep in mind, at least they had a good long-term human, and you can be proud of that.

Sad to hear of your loss. We just had to put our Maggie down two weeks ago after 16 years. The kids were so brave about it, my youngest even stayed to watch so he could "see what happens so when I have a dog I know what to expect. " :{ It's amazing the pain associated with "just" a dog! We've lost three in the last two years, all seniors. Now it's time to decide what kind and when for the next one! Prayers with all the lost pups that gave so much and expected so little.
