Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Lost my chirp????

I just put an Edge EZ on my 02. The one thing I noticed right away was that the chirp is gone when I shut it off. Is this normal??

I think it's a coincidence.

I've lost my chirp but I think it's because it's so Darn Cold. :{

Cold weather seems to do that to all of us. Did not know it did it to trucks too.

I guess I never paid any attention to it the last cold spell we had.

I don't know what you guys define as cold, but the high here today is +9, and that's about 20 above the average, so I'm pretty happy with the mild weather . My '99 didn't lose it's chirp until I replaced the factory belt, regardless of outside temp. FYI: Did you know the factory thermometer doesn't work below -40? It just displays a little "C" which I just took to mean "really, really stupidly, why the hell are you driving me you idiot it's COLD" outside. Of course, your truck could talk to you in a different manner, but mine was usually pretty sarcastic.



My '02 doesn't chirp at all, and I guess I am starting to miss it.



Take heart all, spring is just 'round the bend...

Michigan - Cold is low teens to single digit temperatures... without factoring in wind chill.



Not to mock the Californians, but I recall laughing my a$$ off when temps dropped to the low 60s and people were wearing winter coats.



I am clueless as to how you Alaskans survive... .



Hopefully my "chirp" comes back with the warmer weather, I miss it... .
