Well fellow rammers, my Y2K 3500 has lost its power. How much?

About 200 HP I'm guessing. It feels like the turbo has quit but I've checked and it still is working.

I have a check engine light and a code P 1693.

Before I take it in, I'm taking the EZ off and putting back on the stock boost elbow.

Also, I've purchased a Quick Check II from the Cummins Power Store which I'll hook up to my Palm VIIx to see what it says is wrong.

Also my transmission at 1/8 th throttle constantly has been shifting back and forth between 1st and 2nd in traffic (I have a DTT Valve body).

My truck is parked now until I get some feedback from you fine folks before I have to deal with the Dodge Service Dept.

Thanks, Bob

Robby, don't know if this is an answer or much help, but it could be that the EZ went bad. I've had it happen to 2 of them. The first one I never knew it until I tried to pull a hill that normally I could fly up and the truck bogged down. The second one was just 2 wks. ago. It would defuel and not allow acceleration. I know that won't account for 200hp, but it may be a start.

Robby,

I had a similar problem last week, so I took off the EZ in preparation for a trip to the dealer. When I got back in the truck the light was still on but the power was back to normal (without the EZ). I shut the the truck off, removed the battery cables (to clear the code), put them back on and everything seemed fine.

This lead me to believe that something was wrong with the EZ. I called Edge's tech line and spoke with Aaron (very helpful). He told me that it was probadly caused by a bad connection between the map sensor and the EZ. He told me to apply some dielectric grease to the connectors and put the EZ back on.

It worked great and all is well now

Thanks for the advice. I disconnected the EZ and the Battery cables and the code cleared but the check engine light stayed on. I let it run and then checked the code and it shows P1693 again with the Check Engine lite on. I don't want to drive it until I check it with Quick Check II which I just received today from Cummins, but I haven't received the Palm pilot yet by UPS due by Tues.
