I was just wondering ... . say... . if you won the lottery... . say..... about 1 million bucks... . what would you do with it? I know, I know... . spend it, but on what?



No, I didn't win it, but was wondering if I did, what would you buy or what would you do with it?

Pay off the house, put a chunk away for the kids' education, pay off the bills, donate a big chunk to the NRA just to annoy people. :-laf

Quit my job and go on an extended vacation while pondering the right thing to do with the money. First thing on the list would be to pay of any debt including the house, build the shop of my dreams, and then purchase some more land. Invest the rest.



Of course I would have to start playing the lottery first :-laf

Maybe I'm jsut a young 'un, but Falcon National bank is offering a 12 or 14% APY on CD's, along with 4. 8%? return on bank accoutns.

First I'd pay off the folk's farm. Then buy the 120 acres across the road. Buy me a couple good old IH's to restore and smoe decent hay equipment (Vermeer). Build me a decnt house, machine shed, and riding/rodeo arena to I could practivce roping and bronc riding whenever I want, a newer pickup (Dodge/Cummins). And what was left would be invested in some way.

I would pay off my house/property and shop, buy about 20 acres from my "next door" neighbor and invest the rest for my early retirement so I can enjoy my toys while I am young enough to. Of course, unless we get the FairTax, the IRS would get at least a third of it off the top...

Then there is the fact that you must participate to win... .

4. furnish the shop [lathe, welders, plasma, milling machine, press, box&pan brake, hand tools]

6. stop working overtime...

I would invest, keep living the way I am for about 15 years, then live off the the investment. Almost forgot build a bad ***** diesel truck.
