Yes - very true statement... The response on the 03 has to do with the fact that the ECM was not as "involved" in fuel management...
In a similar test, the 03 will brake-torque and roast the rear tires by holding lightly on the brake and depressing the accelerator... The 04. 5 will NOT brake torque unless you let it roll a bit... The ECM defuels based on seeing no forward momentum, so it limits the power (even though the engine is rated at +45 ft pounds over the 03)...
Of course, this is talking about STOCK trucks...
I think it's time to get a smarty and turn off that pesky torque management
