Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Loud noise when put into Reverse while cold

1996 Ram 4x4, with 235,000 miles is starting to make a loud rattleing noise when first put into reverse when engine is cold. The noise is continuous while in reverse and stops after being put in Drive. After the truck heats up the noise no longer continues. I've checked the trans fluid level and that is OK. That same or similar rattleing noise happens when the trans downshifts when climbing a grade and stops if I back off the throttle. ?????

He can point you in the right direction. If you get to the point of needing a trans he'll ship you one. You or your fav trans shop can install it. I have a lot of miles their trans. Their warrantee is incredible.
