I not to long ago took my truck in to have the valves ajusted. right after it was dun I started hearing a noise like a squealing belt but it was comming from the turboside of the engyn. I took it back and was told that it was the air going throu the turbo (it has changed, the way the air goes thrue the turbo?). Now the noise is gitting real loud and I think that the egyn is going to fly apart. :confused: Has any one ever had a idea of what it might be and why. :{

Is it constant or does it vary with engine load or speed?

It could be a leak on one of the itake hoses between the turbo and the engine. Check all the clamps for correct position and tightness, they do loosen up.

Well it oficaly stoped me from going to work today. It was so bad this morning I turnedaround and came home. It makes the sound whin under a small and big load. This morning it maid the noise right from the start. I still have a 4000 miles on the warnnty. so I will take it in. I will post what the problem was whin they let me know. But it sounds like the valves to me. (on cyilnder 6) that is in additon to the nois the gatevalve is making in the turbo. and I now know that their is a fix for the gatevalve. Found it on the TSB. well have to call a tow truck now talk to you latter. :mad:

Yes. the truck is mine. But I still have 1 year till it is paid off. As soon as I pay it off I will have the money to bomb it. :D

The dealr ship is giving ma a run around and hav not even looked at it yeat. So I sicked my wife on thim. I was on the list to be worked on #52 now yeasterday I was up to 15. She just got dun talking to thim a few minuts ago so thay are going to look at it today. Boy does she get things dun. :p

As for the lock washer/nut I think you are right. They wanted me to pay to hae the engin rebuilt. Well one thing is for sure I wont be going back to thim after I am out of warnty.

Ok I have rtecived the word on the noise. It was the seal on the EGR valve. Has anyone ever herd of the seal going out on a EGR befor? I sure havent. :( And they are not going to cover the seal whitch means I have to pay for all the labor 138$ to change a 10$ part. It allso means that they wont pay for the rental car. 30$ a day for 4 days. Boy theas guys suck. My wife is ripping thim a new one. :--)

sfelts,

Get out your warranty book. Go to emission control section. I believe your EGR valve and maybe the seal is listed there.

As I recall emission control items have a seven year warranty.
