I was driving along yesterday and all of a sudden I hear a loud pop, I think, what the heck was that? I look in my rear view mirror and all I see is white smoke covering the entire road! I figure, oh no, did I blow the turbo? I pull over and immediately smell anti-freeze. I think, oh yea, just a hose or something easy. No such luck, the rear engine freeze plug above the bell housing has been blown out.

Good thing I was only about a mile from home. Max temp was only 217*. It's now at Dishman being repaired under warranty.

Has anyone else experienced this? First time I've hear of this happening.

i've seen some of the early dodges having a clearence issue with the freeze plug hole in the block being to big, just barely big!! :-laf

BIG BOB, i was looking at your sig and was wondering if you still had stock injectors or not. thanks :-laf oh yea hows the hot juice holding up for you? any problems?

Big Bob, common problem on 3rd gens. I know of three. My 03 at 55,000 miles. A new Cummins motor in a customers 04 with less than 1K miles, and Jason(referred to me by Jason of NWCustoms), and his 04. 5 with 42K miles while he was here in Phoenix. On Jason's, I put a plate across the back of the block using existing holes, that has a big nut on the plug side, to keep it from happening again.

All 4 of these are twin turbo motors.

Yes, still have stock injectors. Juice is doing great! :D No problem at all, in fact, it is still the Hot Juice Beta that I tested for them.

Jason Burton told me that you fixed Jason's. Did you remove the transmission to do it?
