Archived Loud ticking and #5 injector line.

Been hearing a louder than usual ticking from the drivers side. I reached down and grabbed the #5 injection line and it is vibrating in conjunction with the ticking and is vibrating while the others are smooth.



Im loaded for Sonora TX with 8,000 lbs of metering equipment. Whats the deal?

Same problem here. The forward most injector line has a hard knocking feel when I grab hold of it. The others are smooth as butter. I got a wooden dowel rod the other day and listened to every injector line and all had nothing more than valve clatter coming from them... except for the very front line. Sounds like a hammer hitting a block of wood and you can definitely feel it too. I wonder if this has anything to do with the truck white-smoking excessively at idle?

The consensus has been a bad injector. # 4&5 have the same collector in ex manifold. Restriction at exhaust port leads to heat. Do a search in the 3rd gen forum. It is not a good thing. Mike
