Archived Loud whine (Not turbo) around 38

While driving my NEW 04 at about 600 miles I noticed a loud whine/drone which seems to come from the Rear end and becomes very noticeable at 38 and starts to fade around 42. Any ideas? :{

Rear end

Just received a call from the Dealership and they informed me that the rear-end when bad. Oil looked like grey paint. Wow... :--) . . only 787 miles. They are replacing all seals, bearings, ring and pinion . Oo.

I know a lot of folks have found their '03s were shipped out with too little oil in the differential, perhaps the same happened to you.

Supprised that they are not replacing the whole axle assy as that would be cost effective in the Co's eyes.
