I am looking for tips on how to make my turbo scream like a C-5 Galaxy rollin' out on departure!

My turbo is stock. I lost the silencer ring and I cut the baffle out of the silencer tube in the intake. For warranty purposes, I am going to keep the stock airbox.

Does the AFE Torque Tube make the turbo any louder when used in conjunction with the stock air box? I have read some posts about the couplers on the torque tube melting, has this been resolved?

Or if you know of a different setup that will increase the loudness, then put it down.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I think the Turbo made by diesel dynamics is super loud, like in the whine and whistle, thats what im trying to find, a member GregBoardman, had that turbo if im not mistaken, im trying to findout in a kinda low profile way because he just passed away not too long ago, if its different ill add to this posting. what i do remember is that the maker is in Az.

could it be the B-1?

My stocker is w/o ring and have afe pro guard and straight 4inch pipe. still not loud, i kinda like the noise from the POWER JOKES, w the 4inch downpipe and straight exh. sounds to me like a piccolo pete on steroids.

Yesturday I traded some 5" straight cut with rain cap pipes for some "6" inch curved and man I do sound like a C-5. I had my wife try the truck with the SRT Hurst shifter. Anyway, you hear the turbo long before you see the truck... There's a stop sign 4 blocks away and I heard that beautiful sound turbo whine and grrrrr from the stacks. I run the AEM Brute Force intake with a PG7 and a Super 62 Turbo :-laf

my brothers only noise maker mods are a torque tube and afe and man you can hear that whistle from a pretty good ways away, so i can imagine the sound of the above combined with stacks and a silver bullet or something. . time for you to hook up a camera or something next to your stacks and take it around the block chris!!! here is a link of what my SPS 62 sounds like de-spooling on my straight piped 2nd genner...

and hey herc. . there was a time i would bash on the trash haulers with props but after the wicked ride into iraq on one of those, never again!

I have the aFe Proguard 7 with TT and just put a SP66 on, have the MBRP exhaust already, and a guy at work asked if I pulled up at work, said it sounded inside like a jet just pulled up on the pad. It howls pretty good. Even without pushing any boost.

Well,

I think I may have to do the torque tube set up. Has everyone had good experience with it? Although I saw on another thread titled "Baffled" that there was a cool blue hose that looked good. Anyways, check my reader rigs you "HERC" buffs. I have a cool pic with one here in Nashville. Thanks for the input because I have got to get my Cummins to start screamin!

Diesel Thunder.

If you want loud, ditch the stock filter setup and get a K&N or other good flowing filter. Also, the stock rubber flex tube sucks. Metal pipe will resonate the sound better too. I made my own intake setup using 4" mandrel bends and a large K&N filter. Had the pipes cermachromed and the turbo sings like an F-15 at mil power.

How could I git 1 for a 2001, I have the AFE setup

What do you mean "get one"? I built mine. Does your AFE kit replace the stock turbo intake hose with a smooth one? I assume it's plastic. You could make a metal one out of a mandrel 120* bend. Your AFE filter is fine though.

I'll have to side with the Rotorheads. I designes a lot of the wire harnesses on the UH-60M, the MH-60S and a few on the S-92. I have MBRP exhaust, stock turbo sans silencer ring, and a Scotty 2 with the hole cut. I can definitely hear all sorts of turbo in the cab. Love it! :D
