On my truck the fogs stay on with the high beams. The stock fog relay is only to turn off the fog lights when the highs are on but if you remove it and place a jumper between two of the pins, they stay on with the highs or the lows. I learned this on here and don't remember the thread. The jumper is just a piece of 12 gauge copper wire I flattened on the ends and bent into a U shape, then pressed into the two relay slots. There are 4 slots on my year relay, in the shape of a T looking at the PDC. The lower horizontal slots are the ones you jump together.

what about replacing the fogs with piaa 525s - dual beam (fogs/driving lights) - $cha-ching$
I changed out my fogs with Hella 120mm high beam modules + since the housings are not plastic I am running 100w Xenon bulbs. I had the bright box on my 03 with the 9005's in the fogs but like this mod better.

The 120mm's are also aimable and fit the hole nicely. I added a relay so they come on with the high beams but may bomb that with also a switch so I can flash the 24/7 driving light folks without lighting up the whole interior of their car.

Recommending Lights is somewhat like the Oil discussion - so here goes..

Hey - I'm 57 and my night vision isn't getting any better. I tried the better regular bulbs - slightly better. Now what works fantastic for me is this... .

I have a Buckstop Bumper and I put these in.

I had the driving lights but I couldn't use them when anybody was coming and that's when I really need the extra light - rainy nights - so I replaced them with the fog lights - they white not yellow and I run them with my headlights - I used the foglight switch that came with my toy ones from the factory. Now I really love these lights - I use them all the time I need to see... . They're Not just FOG LIGHTS as we might think - I use them as fantastic Normal Driving lights.

For real driving when one can use high beams I use these... . the 170 Striker!MAN DO THEY LIGHT UP THE ROAD - You can't use them with any traffic - I mean Any traffic - it looks like a frieght train is coming... ...

They use these on the Austrailian Truck Trains and they are essentially indestructable! They have a polycarbonite lens cover that is available in different colors and patterns - I have the clear. They are almost unbreakable. They can be shot with a shotgun with 71/2 shot at 15 meters and a 22 at 100 meters. No Rock will hurt the. Well if big enough it can hurt everybody... .

But don't you find that having a second set of lamps on bothers on coming traffic? I know it does me anyway.

Fogs with low beams "in the fog" is no big deal as the fog blocks allot of the light to the other drivers.

Fogs & lows with no fog is like looking at a flood lamp. I always thought it was illegal to have more than one set of lamps on with on coming traffic.

In our area it has been getting worse, If its going to become the norm I may have to change my way of thinking and add yet another set of lamps to use with my low beams.

No not the way I have them

set and I have never had anybody high beam me yet... ... I can't tell you how great these lights are now they are mounted a little lower than the originals but a whole lot better - I mean a whole lot better.

matt,

those look like some swell lamps! if only they were combination fog/driving. if i went with them i would be giving up either my fog or driving lights - right now i'm looking for a single lamp that would do it all - but i definately need something to light up the distance.

matt,

i saw that your xenon 100w bulbs have only a life expectancy of 250 hours - have you blew one yet? 250 hrs is not whole-lotta-time for a whole-lotta-money?

thanks, ron

If you use the Brite box won't that put extra current throught the negative post on the head lamp bulb? I upgraded my socket connectors, and would run both High and low beams which ended up burning out my negative leads on the head light bulds and damaged the new socket connectors.

Yeah but it makes a HUGE difference over stock!! When I'm driving on a back road or where ever having the high/low and fogs on DOES make a noticeable difference. I would buy the brite box again if dodge doesn't fix the problem on the new trucks.
