Recently, started noticing rock chips on the hood and front bumper and fenders. Down to the primer. OK, no big deal.

This weekend I put a 4' x 8' folding table in the bed by myself. Not too heavy, but pretty awkward. Used the tailgate as a pivot point, but never did rub the table across the tailgate. Got home and noticed a nice chunk of paint missing from the tailgate top edge, down to the primer. Ok, bed can be fixed with a spray-in liner, but what about the rest of the truck?

I'm a little irritated. My truck listed for almost $45k. I expect the paint to be a little more durable.

Now my wife is irritated with me because I won't let anyone touch the truck body for fear of scratching the paint.

Truck is built in Mexico, color is bright silver.

mine was built in st louis and is also silver and the paint also sucks butt... I'm expecting it to blow off one of these days:mad:

I don't even like letting my dog ride in the back because her feet scratch the sides of the bed(outside)

I agree, not much paint on these trucks... I scratched mine just by washing it ! Looks like I will be buffing out scratches often on this thing. I wish I got white or silver, these colors hide the scratches better than the dark colors. .

Other than that I love this truck !

The EPA has cracked down on auto makers so hard that a decent paintjob is hard to come by. I plan on having some ghost flames painted on my 04 when it gets here so I'll have some more clear shot on the whole thing.
